What are your opening hours?

Every megaSun Lounge is open daily from 10:00am to 10:00pm — including weekends and public holidays. Last session starts around 30 minutes before close so you have time to change and rinse.

Do you have a mobile app?

Yes. The megaSun Lounge app is available on the App Store and Google Play. You can book sessions, see opening hours per branch, and scan-and-earn reward points at every visit — points convert into discounts, free minutes or premium products.

How long does a session take?

An actual session in the bed is up to 15 minutes maximum — the exact length depends on your skin type and the device. Plan a bit of extra time for your first visit, which includes a free Fitzpatrick skin consult before you start.

What should I bring?

Just yourself. Protective eyewear is provided in every cabin and is required during the session. We also supply fresh towels and disinfect every cabin between guests. If you have your own indoor tanning lotion you're welcome to bring it.

Should I shower before my session?

A quick rinse beforehand is ideal — ideally without heavy soap. Make-up, deodorant, perfume and outdoor sunscreen all contain ingredients that can react under UV or block your tan unevenly. Come in with clean, product-free skin and you'll tan more evenly.

Yes. One account works at every megaSun Lounge across Dubai and Abu Dhabi — same prices online and in studio. Minutes, memberships and app reward points all carry between branches automatically.

Every lounge has private, individual cabins with a changing area, lockers and a mirror. Most locations also have showers — your advisor will point you to the right one when you check in.

What's the dress code at the lounge?

Whatever you walked in wearing. Inside your private cabin you choose — most guests tan nude for an even result, some prefer swimwear. The cabin door locks, and no advisor enters during a session.

Are prices the same online and in studio?

Yes — same product, same price. Buying a 120-minute package on this site or at the counter in JVC gets you the same minutes, the same beds, the same skin consult. No "online-only" discount to pull you out of the lounge, and no "walk-in fee" to push you online. One price, both doors.

What's the difference between a Package and a Membership?

Packages are flexibility — buy 60, 120 or 180 minutes from AED 499, use them across every lounge, and have 12 months to spend them. Memberships are commitment — unlimited sessions for 6 or 12 months, every premium bed included with no surcharge, priority booking, and a free Australian Gold lotion every quarter. If you tan more than twice a week, the 12-month membership is cheaper per session.

Are there hidden fees, setup costs, or first-time charges?

None. VAT is included in every price shown. No setup fee, no joining fee, no first-time charge. The free Fitzpatrick skin consult on your first visit is genuinely free — no obligation, no contract on the table.

Do you charge extra for premium beds (K9S, P9S, K11 Air)?

On a Minute Package, premium beds run on a small per-minute surcharge — your minutes still spend down, just slightly faster. On a Membership, every bed is included with no surcharge, including the K11 Air, P9S and K9S.

What if my minutes expire before I've used them?

Within the 12-month window, your minutes never expire — tan in week 2, week 30 or week 50, they're all yours. After 12 months, unused minutes lapse. We send a reminder 30 days before so nothing goes to waste.

How do I cancel my membership?

Email, call, or walk in — any of the three. We need 30 days notice before the next renewal. No penalty, no "we'll keep your unused weeks". You'll get a written confirmation the same day.

Can I pause my membership while travelling?

Members can request to freeze once per term for up to 30 days — for travel, medical reasons, or anything else you'd rather not explain. Ask your advisor at the front desk; we add the time onto the end of your term.

Does my membership renew automatically?

Yes, on the same card and same plan unless you tell us otherwise. We email you 14 days before renewal so you have time to switch plans, cancel, or do nothing. No surprise charges.

Is indoor tanning safe?

Indoor tanning is controlled tanning — measured UV doses, calibrated session lengths capped at 15 minutes, and a Fitzpatrick skin consult before you start. That's the difference between advisor-led indoor sessions and uncontrolled outdoor exposure. Indoor tanning isn't risk-free — no UV exposure is — but it is measurable, and we'll turn a session away when the timing isn't right.

What's the difference between the sunbeds?

Premium beds like the K9s and P9s for stronger, faster sessions, with hybridSun variants that combine tan + red-light skin care. How often should I tan?

While you're building a base: 2–3 sessions a week, with at least 24–48 hours between sessions — your skin needs that long for melanin to develop. To maintain a tan: once a week is usually enough. We never recommend two sessions in one day; there's no benefit, only added exposure.

What's the deal with Vitamin D?

UVB exposure is the body's natural trigger for Vitamin D synthesis — the same mechanism as natural sunlight. Despite the year-round sun, UAE residents are widely reported as prone to Vitamin D deficiency, largely because air-conditioned indoor lives mean most skin rarely meets measured UVB. We can build a session plan around that — but we work alongside medical advice, never instead of it.

Can I tan if I'm on medication or have sensitive skin?

Tell your advisor before the consult. Several common medications increase UV sensitivity — when in doubt, defer to your doctor and pause sessions while you're on the course. Sensitive skin isn't a no, it just means shorter sessions, gentler beds, and a slower build.

Should I wear sunscreen during a session?

No outdoor SPF in the bed — outdoor sunscreens are formulated to block UV and will both ruin your tan and clog the acrylic. Use an indoor tanning lotion instead; we stock Australian Gold and Peau d'Or at every lounge. Lip balm with SPF for your lips is a good idea — lip skin doesn't tan and burns easily.
